Today, we’re eating at Hong Kong Ban Jeom, a popular Jajangmyeon franchise owned by celebrity Chef Baek Jong Won. This place is known for serving some of the best black bean noodles in town and other classic Korean-Chinese dishes.

We also ordered Tangsuyuk—sweet and sour crispy pork, Jjamppong—a spicy seafood noodle soup, and some fried Mandu to complete the feast.

The Jajangmyeon was delicious. The rich, savory, and slightly sweet sauce coated every strand of the chewy, bouncy noodles perfectly. It paired so well with the crisp, slightly tangy pickled radish on the side, balancing out the flavors.

Next up, Tangsuyuk. The pork was super crispy, and that sweet and sour sauce had just the right balance of tanginess and sweetness. The portion size was huge, making it perfect for sharing. Just a tip: eat it while it’s hot because the crispy coating gets tough after a while.

Finally, the Jjamppong. It had the perfect level of spice and was packed with squid, mussels, and vegetables, making every bite flavorful and satisfying. If you love seafood and can tolerate a little bit of heat, this one is for you.
